This particular endeavor, from Annesanti in bucolic Umbria, makes a pretty strong argument in the affirmative. Named for the Italian word for ‘stem’, this foray into fizzy fascination earns it’s place on our shelves with a plucky combination of whole-cluster Sangiovese, and later Aleatico must for in-bottle second fermentation, resulting in a hazy, buzzy, but pleasingly dry pet nat perfect for an afternoon outdoors.
