Cederberg Winery, Bukettraube, Cederberg, South Africa 2024 100% Bukettraube
SUPER EXOTIC, FLORAL, SPICY, LIGHTLY SWEET & RICH A grape variety from the super-obscure category: Bukettraube or Bouquettraube (in France). This grape is planted in miniscule amounts in France, Germany and South Africa. Think of it as Chenin Blanc meets Sauvignon Blanc meets Riesling and Muscat. Big, friendly, spicy and lightly sweet, this version shows apricot, honey, peach, gooseberry and melon flavors. The palate has a touch of sweetness balanced by a wallop of acidity on the finish. Serving Suggestion: A must w/ anything hot & spicy: curries, Szechuan, Thai food, etc. Also great w/ strong cheeses like Stilton, or smoked cheeses. Moroccan saffron chicken. Wasabi popcorn.
