RICH CHERRY & RASPBERRY, SUNBAKED CEDAR, SPICE Cecil DeLoach purchased the Barbieri Ranch in 1970; aided by his wife, who also had an advanced anthropology degree but no winemaking experience, the two learned fast! Named as a gesture to his 17 year career as a firefighter at San Francisco’s Hook & Ladder Station 10, this Pinot Noir is a rich, luscious California archetype. Full of bold red fruit and rough-hewn spice, it’s uncompromisingly new-world, but rustic in its own ineffable way. Serving Suggestion: Fresh sourdough, spicy summer sausage, sharp cheese, & sweet beer mustard. For dessert, grilled soy-glazed cedar plank salmon.
