Domaine La Ligière, Vacqueyras Rouge "Point G", Rhone Valley, France 2020 {biodynamic} 100% Grenache from old vines
BLACK CHERRY & RASPBERRY, DARK ROAST COFFEE, SUPPLE The Southern Rhône revolves around Grenache, particularly from old, gnarly vines like these. These vines are so old they predate the naming of Vacqueyras as an AOC, the birth of the winemaker, and even the estate itself! This cuvée exhibits lush flavors of ripe fruits as well as tantalizing aromas of coffee beans and fig, all set beautifully against firm tannins. Serious enough to cellar, but ready for tonight. Serving Suggestion: Roasted pork belly w/ spiced red plum, ginger, & rhubarb. Lamb w/ walnut, fig, & goat cheese salad. Cajun portobello sandwich w/ avocado & remoulade.
