Mas Codina, Syrah "S", Penedes, Spain 2022 100% Syrah {organic}
BLACKBERRY, CURRANT, LAVENDER & HERBS Although Syrah (famous in France, Australia, the US and South Africa) is planted in Spain, it is typically a blending grape instead of the featured player. Toni Garriga has a lovely, hillside vineyard with great sunlight and cool nights, perfect for this grape. The flavors here lean more towards the French style in texture, but without the earthy bite. It shows off the lovely aromatics which are what makes Syrah so charming and intriguing. Serving Suggestion:Afghani kabobs, or a riff on them with lamb, mushroom, cipollini oinions, and fingerling potatoes crusted in herbs and grilled.
