The Musto Carmelitano family has named this cuvée for the town they call home, as well as for nearby Mount Vulture, an enormous, extinct volcano in Italy’s Basilicata. Eons of eruptions have imbued its imposing slopes with volcanic soil that helps this late-ripening grape achieve the structure that has earned it its status as the sturdiest, most age-worthy denizen of southern Italy. Serving Suggestion: Kofte kabobs & beet-carrot salad w/ walnuts & pomegranate vinaigrette. Calzone w/ black olives, shiitakes, spinach, & truffle oil.
