BLACKBERRY, EARTHY SPICE & VANILLA, SUAVE RICHNESS The Alonso family handpicks these grapes from a single vineyard, later sending the wine underground to barrel age in their 300-year-old cave winery. This is a rich, elegant expression of the rare, local grape Prieto Picudo, whose thick skins and paucity of juice make for great intensity but also balance. In this reserve bottling, oak accentuates, rather than masks, the grape’s unique, rustic personality and spice. Serving suggestion: Smoked brisket, hearty beef stew, or maybe a charcuterie board w/ an extra helping of bresaola. Grilled potato wedges w/ smoked paprika & saffron aioli.
