LEMON ZEST & HONEYDEW, HAZY & HEFEWEIZEN-ESQUE Featuring Portuguese varieties transplanted onto the unlikely slopes of the Mosel, this breathtaking beast of a blend comes straight out of the cabinet of curiosities. This natural wine is cloudy with a bold, citrusy attack and a funky finish. Jan Klein’s experimental plantings were partially inspired by a desire to see what increasing temperatures in German vineyards might render possible, and the name is a play on words. Silly Jan! Serving Suggestion: Vietnamese vermicelli w/ ground pork, shrimp, lemongrass, basil, & fish sauce. Coconut-based curries. Slow-cooked ribs w/ sticky-sweet BBQ sauce. Crostini w/ goat cheese, lemon zest, & fresh basil.
