CANDIED BLACKBERRY, TOASTED CHESTNUT, ORANGE PEEL Late Bottle Vintage Port is always a treat because, as a rule, it was going to be bottled as a specific vintage, but due to lacking demand in the market, port makers have to hang on to it for longer than anticipated, and that means a sweet little bonus for us here in the future. Deeper and slightly nuttier than it’s young Ruby cousins, Vieira de Sousa’s LBV still has their signature freshness balanced with deeper purple fruit and the warm richness of extra time in the barrel. Serving Suggestions: Seared venison loin w/ blackberry gastrique & winter greens; Cocoa nib & orange-peel macarons; spicy candied Christmas nuts.
