NUTTY FIG, SPICED OAK, BERGAMOT & BLACK TEA LEAVES Maria and Louisa, sister-producer duo at Vieira de Sousa, lucked into quite the stash when they took over their father’s port-making operation fifteen years ago, which means producing a delicious aged Tawny port with what they had on hand was a no-brainer. Portugal joining the EU also meant that growers could now bottle their own harvest instead of shipping it off to a massive bottling house, so this nutty delight is the result of Vieira de Sousa’s expert hand and extensive reserve. Serving Suggestions: Roasted morel ravioli w/ sherry cream; spiced lamb tagine w/ apricot & toasted almond; gorgonzola & salted caramel cheesecake.
