DARK FRUIT, ROBUST YET ELEGANT, AROMATIC Saddle up your horse and let’s ride out to the country- this is a picnic red if we’ve ever met one. Grown in sandier soil close to the Vomano River that runs north of the vineyards, it’s a touch paler and more delicate than the average Montepulciano, with soft tannins and gentle spice, though still rich, full of juicy black plums and boysenberries, with a whiff of leather and a pinch of pipe tobacco. Serving Suggestions: Proscuitto, green olives, fresh red tomatoes w/ olive oil, caciocavallo cheese or burrata w/ fresh fresh bread. Wild mushroom pizza.
