Domaine La Ligiere, Rosé "Méditerranée" [3L Bag-in-Box], Southern Rhone, France 2023 {biodynamic} 95% Carignan, 5% Muscat
JUICY RASPBERRY & LEMON ZEST, FIRM & HYPER-REFRESHING Carignan, with its reputation for robust rusticity, is probably not the grape that you’d immediately suspect upon tasting this vibrantly berryish and lightly floral rosé from the northwestern fringe of the Provençal countryside. As eloquently balanced as this wine is, we can’t help but think of it as the adult equivalent of a raspberry-lemon push pop – albeit dry! Because a bottle couldn’t possibly provide enough wine this refreshing, Domaine La Ligière has brilliantly put it in a three liter box! Serving Suggestion: Papaya salad w/ grilled squid & pork. Battered & fried cubanelle peppers w/ lemon juice & paprika.
